Who Are We When Survival Is No Longer the Primary Task?

For a long time, identity can be a strategy.
We become the peacemaker, the achiever, the one who does not need much, the one who leaves first, the one who stays too long. These are intelligent adaptations.
Then, sometimes, the old emergency ends. The house is quieter. The calendar is our own. And a strange vacancy arrives: if I am not managing this, who am I?
You do not have to become unrecognizable. You may only need to stop abandoning the parts of you that were never the problem.
